A little about me...
Gabriela was born and raised in Guadalajara, Mexico, with a lifelong dream of attending a university in the US to seize the opportunities for a promising career. This dream became a reality when Gabriela attended Boston University, which laid the foundation for her professional journey.
Gabriela has built a successful career at Deloitte in New York, excelling in SOX readiness, IT risk assessments, and auditing Identity Access Management (IAM) technologies over the past three years. Her passion for cybersecurity, ignited during her college years, has only grown since then.
As a first-generation immigrant woman from Mexico, Gabriela's unique background equips her with a distinctive viewpoint, enabling her to understand issues minorities face that are often overlooked in business and technology. Driven by a strong sense of ethics and social responsibility, Gabriela strives to ensure conscious decision-making and foster an inclusive approach in cybersecurity.
Gabriela is deeply committed to contributing to the growth of Latina women leaders in cybersecurity. This commitment extends beyond her professional life. As an active member of the ALPFA New York Chapter, Gabriela pioneered the Professional Mentorship Program, guiding Latino professionals to take ownership of their careers, plan long-term goals, and position themselves for advancement in the workplace.
Outside of work, Gabriela enjoys spending quality time with her loved ones, staying active, and planning her next scuba diving adventure.
Looking ahead, Gabriela's goal is to become a global cybersecurity leader, making significant contributions to the field and inspiring the next generation of leaders.
